Dr. Ryan Braden on Dental Implants
At the Bradenton Dental Center, we restore a lot of dental implants. I mean, anytime someone loses
a tooth, it can be a very emotional experience. I mean, especially where the tooth is in the mouth,
it’s never news you want to deliver to someone that you’re going to lose a part of your body.
Dental implants are an amazing solution to replace that. The goal is always, can we save,
preserve the natural tooth itself? However, if there is a situation where it’s just beyond
repair, infection, whatever it may be, we need to get that tooth removed. The dental implant
is the most predictable, conservative solution to replace that missing tooth.
It feels natural. You treat it like you would a natural
tooth. You brush floss like you normally would.
If it’s done properly as we do here, it’s going to just feel like it’s always
belonged. And it can be a front tooth. It’s all about how do we get that to look natural.
It’s all about the gingival or gum architecture to support the tooth. Again,
that’s kind of the frame around the tooth, like the lips are the
frame around the smile. We’ve got to look at all those factors together.
If there’s one thing to just put an implant in, it’s another to put in an implant that looks
like it’s always been there. And putting all those pieces together to get the gums around
the implant, to get the bite right, to get the aesthetics right, the shading right,
these are all very specific, detail-oriented items that we focus on to make sure the end result is
that trauma of losing that tooth when it’s all said and done in time you forget it ever happened.
Because we try to erase the past by replacing it with something that looks like it fits.
